"Daniel Beltramo of Beltramo's Fine Wines and Spirits submitted the single letter opposing the appeal, arguing that Menlo Park already has more than its quota of alcohol outlets."

This speaks for itself. If the Menlo Park City Council cares about regular citizens, which I doubt, they will ignore and reject the complaints of an established merchant about a new store.

Competition is supposed to be the American way of business, but sadly we are tying everything up in red tape and politics these days.

whoda thunk? Beltramos against someone else in town being able to sell alcohol? The sad thing is that Beltramos doesn't sell the cheap crap Walgreens will be selling so they really aren't competition.
