Remade in America--True Story, The Film Project 2012

Original post made by Marlene Lee on May 2, 2012

A 1953 Silver Streak trailer needs rebuilding and so does America. In a tiny town off Route 66, idiosyncratic characters hired to transform it personify the skill, community, humor & crusty broad-minded it will take America to find its way forward.

Join local filmmakers Robin Garthwait and Dan Griffin as they embark on the process of creating their next documentary, Remade in America - True Story. GG Films is a documentary filmmaking team. Projects have been seen in film festivals around the world, in Congress & PBS.

This is a unique opportunity to participate in the making of the film from start to finish. Hands-on participation. Contribute from 0-2 hours a week. Help uncover the story, connect to the film shoot via skype, assist with background research & interview transcripts, review rough cuts, participate in focus groups, PR & outreach to film festivals, arrange screenings and more. Making a film takes lots of people - join us!

Meetings: 6:30 pm-7:30 pm First Wednesday of the month at the Atherton Library (*Note: Additional meetings during the month may be arranged as necessary/needed dependent upon film progression.) This event is free & open to public participation.
