Saltworks drops off drawing board

Environmental activists rejoiced after developer DMB Associates announced last week that the controversial Saltworks project has dropped off the drawing board, at least for now.

Don't fool yourself - there is a reason there is a lot of construction going on off Whipple Ave to "restore the marshes/SF Bay" to its "natural beauty." The infrastructure (roads, sewer, communications) are likely being laid for large development. Look beyond the facade. It is likely coming!

An internal DMB memo some years back probably read something like this:

"Let's propose an outrageous project and push it until it is about to be rejected and then we can come back with something just a little bit less outrageous showing how reasonable we are and how much better the new project is............"
