NYT Revives Benghazi Video Lie to Save Hillary

Original post made by Lincoln Steffens, Menlo Park: Central Menlo Park, on Jan 2, 2014

The New York Times know that the security failures, and then the lies and coverups over the attacks, represent a huge liability for Clinton's presidential aspirations.

It's inexcusable that the liberal media are dishonoring those who were killed and injured in the attack by lying about what really happened. It is unacceptable that the New York Times would lie to it's readers and tell them that the attack wasn't a planned assault by al-Qaida aligned terrorists, but instead was a spontaneous political protest over a YouTube video.

The media thinks they can rewrite history to suit their liberal political beliefs, and in doing so protect liberal political figures such as Barack Obama, Susan Rice and Hillary Clinton. They think that the American people will 'forget' the truth of what happened on that awful night on September 11th when Americans came under a violent bloody attack and no help came despite the desperate pleas by those who were facing imminent death.

Don't let the liberal media, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton get away with this. Don't let them silence those who hold the truth about Benghazi and we cannot let this scandal and cover up continue.

Oh, get over it. If you're so sensitive, recheck what WMD debacle cost the world in terms of death & destruction, promoted by a previous president, and vp, and defense, and, and - they should all be in jail for every American death during that time. Politics ain't pretty...

awww, Hank, but you loved the NYT for the Obamacare scare stories for awhile!

Bush was warned Aug 6 in a PDB titled: Bin Ladin Determined to Attack in US" and stayed on vacation another month, despite 50 warnings.

Where is the link to your post telling us that Bush "lies and coverups over the attacks, represent a huge liability for (his) presidential aspirations" ? We'll wait while you post the links to your objections over Bush's security failures, the biggest in American history.

Just curious, in your other NYT thread, someone asked what the republican plan was for healthcare. They noted that since HillaryCare in 1993, the republicans have not voted FOR a healthcare plan (other than the unpaid for Medicare Part B, a deficit busting disaster.)

Republicans hate ObamaCare -- the question was: will they rename it HillaryCare after she's elected?

We all know that's about how deep GOP policy runs these days!

BREAKING: Republicon Led House INTELLIGENCE Committee clears Hillary and White House, report release this Thursday

from sfgate: "The House Intelligence Committee, led by Republicans, has concluded that there was no deliberate wrongdoing by the Obama administration in the 2012 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi..."

Web Link

"Among the Intelligence Committee's findings, according to Thompson:
-- Intelligence agencies were "warned about an increased threat environment, but did not have specific tactical warning of an attack before it happened."

-- "A mixed group of individuals, including those associated with al Qaeda, (Moammar) Khadafy loyalists and other Libyan militias, participated in the attack."

-- "There was no 'stand-down order' given to American personnel attempting to offer assistance that evening, no illegal activity or illegal arms transfers occurring by U.S. personnel in Benghazi, and no American was left behind."

-- The administration's process for developing "talking points" was "flawed, but the talking points reflected the conflicting intelligence assessments in the days immediately following the crisis."

- - - -

Shorter version: "Sorry, we, the GOP, have been lying through our ***** for pure partisan political gain. Nothing to see here, sheeple. Just ignore all that Foxaganda..."

Quoting Rick Perry: "Whoops."

In the months preceding the Benghazi attacks, Cheryl Mills, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's Chief of Staff and her deputy Jake Sullivan, had made Secretary Clinton abundantly aware that the American Consulate in Benghazi was highly vulnerable to assault from heavily armed Islamic Islamic terrorists. Both Mills and Sullivan emphatically warned Hillary that Benghazi has descended into anarchy.

After the warnings the following events unfolded
1. In April 2012, terrorists threw an explosive device at a convoy carrying United Nations envoy Ian Martin.

2. In June 2012 an IED exploded outside the American Consulate blowing a hole in the perimeter wall. The Islamic terrorists responsible for the IED left leaflets at the scene claiming the attack was retaliation for the death of Abu Yahya al-libi, the number 2 ranking Al Qaeda operative in Libya.

3. In June 2012 armed terrorists affiliated with Ansar al-Sharia, a Libyan Al Qaeda splinter group, stormed the Tunisian Consulate in Benghazi.

4. In June 2012 Islamic terrorists made an assassination attempt using RPGs as the weapon of choice on the United Kingdom's Ambassador to Libya, Sir Dominic Asquith. Subsequently the UK pulled all its diplomatic personnel out of Benghazi.

5. In July 2012 Both MI6 and the Mossad alerted the State Department that Ansar al-Sharia and other Islamic terror groups linked to Al Qaeda were operating in Benghazi. Duh!!

6. In August 2012, the American Consulate in Benghazi sent the State Department a an emergency cable stating the Regional Security Officer has grave doubts about the ability to defend the Consulate due to inadequate security, insufficient weapons, lack of host nation support and the large size of the compound

7. Ambassador Stevens himself sent a flurry of diplomatic messages back to the State Department warming that security in Benghazi was practically nonexistent. One of his messages was titled "Libya's Fragile Security Deteriorates as Tribal Rivalries Power Plays and Extremism Intensify.

8. On September 19, the day before the attack on the American Consulate, Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden' successor as the Leader of Al Qaeda released a video calling for the "sons of Libya" to avenge the CIA's drone killings.

Yet despite all these alarming events, a clear warning to the clear a present danger that existed in Benghazi, Hillary turned her back on Ambassador's Stevens urgent requests.

Now some Liberals have claimed that the House cut the Security budget which is true. But what liberals conveniently omitted was that the State Department had a $2 Billion contingency fund to address special situations. I guess providing Louis Roederer Cristal and the Beluga caviar for the Paris Embassy's soirées were far more important than an ambassador's life. After all the United States has to keep up appearances.

During an October 10, 2012 U.S. House of Representatives, Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) asked State Department Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Programs Charlene Lamb the following question: "It has been suggested the budget cuts are responsible for lack of security in Benghazi, and I'd like to ask Ms. Lamb, you made this decision personally, was there any budget consideration and lack of budget that led you not to increase the number of people in the security force there?". Her answer was "No, sir."

"Yet despite all these alarming events, a clear warning to the clear a present danger that existed ..."

You mean like this like getting 50 wanings of impending attack and yet staying on vacation in Crawford?

"Bin Ladin Determined to Attack In US" here's the CIA memo to the Bushies Web Link

and the testimony from the NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER, soon to be promoted to SecState for her errors and misjudgments: Web Link

(hold your breath)

>>> Q: Isn't it a fact, Dr. Rice, that the August 6 PDB warned against possible attacks in this country? And I ask you whether you recall the title of that PDB?

>>> GOP favorite, lil' Condi RICE: I believe the title was, "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States."

(now pray for the 3,000 lost in the Towers, because Bush et al stayed on vacation after being explicitly warned.)

>>> "RICE: I believe the title was, "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States."

August 6.

September 11.

Mr "Steffens": where is your outrage?

Now, you reference one of NUMEROUS House investigations, don't you? Why not read their final assessment, rather than regurgitate lies and GOP half truths? Web Link From "BREAKING" above:

from sfgate: "The House Intelligence Committee, led by Republicans, has concluded that there was no deliberate wrongdoing by the Obama administration in the 2012 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi..."

"Among the Intelligence Committee's findings, according to Thompson:

Get a grip.

Turn off Fox.

At least you admit the fact that the GOP has been cutting embassy security, though you misguidedly conflate it with State Diplomatic functions. What a fool. Security cut by the GOP == good. When S### hits the security fan, suddenly it's SoS's fault?!?!?

What a fox tr###.

"Steffens": why don't you get to the heart of the matter and call for Obama's IMPEACHMENT?

Please.

No, really: Please!!

You know you want it. Do it.

Show some REAL GUTS, "Steffan"!!

Don't be a wimp!

Please impeach!

Pretty please?

Puhhhhhhhhleezzzzzzzzze?

"The McClatchy-Marist College poll shows political moderates oppose the impeachment of Obama 79 percent to 15 percent." Web Link

And by all means, KEEP SUING THE PRESIDENT!!!!

"Americans say 58 percent to 34 percent that the GOP should not sue Obama, and moderates agree 67-22. Moderates also say by a 50-25 margin that the lawsuit makes them more likely to back Democrats in 2014."

Keep it up, keep supporting the fringe loons on the right who believe the lies about Benghazi, false birth certificates, Big Oil's lie that Climate Change is a hoax by Gore, etc...

Please impeach!

Puhhhhhhhhleezzzzzzzzze?

Idiots.
