I'm relieved no one was killed or suffered life-threatening injuries! Perhaps when so many adults quit: 1-responding with inane comments such, "You can have ONE drink & drive" (as the adult is standing in front of them telling them they can't & won't); 2-modeling bad behavior by drinking & driving; 3-rationalizing it, etc.; the amount of driving after drinking will reduce. I'm not a non-drinker; I'm a "never drink before/during driving" person. It's that simple. Not easy for some I realize, but simple. If any of us have the misfortune of killing someone with our vehicle, most of us will want to be able to honestly say we did everything possible to avoid a collision. Including being free of all drugs including alcohol. Very sorry for everyone involved in this latest!

Thankfully, the innocent people in this accident were not hurt by someone's decision to drive while drunk. [Portion removed. Please discuss the topic without making assumptions about the accused, including her guilt.] What can we do to reduce the risk of innocent lives being taken by the careless and menacing behavior of others?

Its not okay to drink and drive...it is not okay to think you can handle the car while drunk. It is obvious that alcohol distorts your normal behavior to function with a sane mind, therefore, drinking and driving runs the risk of killing or hurting innocent people.
