Healthcare candidates join forces

Original post made by Jack Hickey, Woodside: Emerald Hills, on Aug 15, 2014

Three candidates for the Sequoia Healthcare District Board of Directors election on November 4, 2014, met at the Canyon Roastery in Emerald Hills this morning to affirm their common purpose. If all three are elected, their votes on the 5 member board would enable them to call an election for voters to decide the district’s future.

My original post contained a factual error which fortunately was caught by Bonnie Eslinger of the PA Daily News before publishing her version of the story. The statement, “DePaula has a strong accounting background which would serve him well as a Director.” actually applies to another candidate, Doug Radtke, who I recruited for the Peninsula Healthcare District forcing an election.

DePaula’s statement should have read “As a director of the Sequoia Health Care District, I will advocate for accountability, transparency, and good governance in the district.”

I have previously posted all healthcare district candidate statements on the Almanac Town Square Forum.
