Park Theater Subcommittee Report

Richard Cline & Heyward Robinson

November 6, 2007

This report completes the work of the council sub-committee appointed to negotiate an agreement whereby the city would purchase the Park Theater. The sub-committee has determined that a deal involving the use of city funds is not possible. The sub-committee further recommends that the city end negotiations to purchase the theater. This ends the city’s involvement in the proposal to restore the theater. The future of the theater remains unclear. The report below outlines how the sub-committee came to its conclusions, discusses the lessons learned, and lists some possible options for the site and building in the future.
