Editorial: Bike bridge gets a bad rap

The complex and sometimes racially charged tensions between the Menlo Park neighborhoods on the east and west side of U.S. 101 erupted last week during a discussion before the City Council.

Both items written about this troubling issue failed to note reasons for one no vote; by sending Caltrans back to the drawing board the council could have forced them to get needed community input and saved hours of meeting time. Publius

People in the Willows complain about crime, but residents of Belle Haven are victimized by crime at a much higher rate. Seems like Belle Haven residents should be doing the complaining about too much crime in their neighborhood.

Blaming a pedestrian bridge for providing an entry point for criminals is idiotic. I suppose criminals don't own cars?
