Project Read-Menlo Park Gives Back to Kepler's
Menlo Park, posted by Roberta Roth-Project Read-Menlo Park, a resident of the Menlo Park: Downtown neighborhood, on Jan 8, 2008 at 4:57 pm

During the recent holiday season, nearly two dozen Project Read-Menlo Park tutors and adult learners volunteered more than 200 hours to help Kepler's staff wrap over 1000 purchases!

This project was one way that our Tutors and Learners could thank our local independent bookstore that has been very supportive of Project Read. In addition to wrapping the books and other gifts, our volunteers had the opportunity to educate customers about Project Read, the Menlo Park Library adult literacy program.

Kepler's staff was very appreciative and the volunteers really enjoyed the experience. We hope to be able to help out again for future holidays such as Valentine's Day, Mother's/Father's Days and graduation.

The effort raised the visibility of our program which we hope will result in more volunteer tutors and adult learners for Project Read!

We are holding our January Tutor Training on Jan. 22nd and 26th. For more info call 330-2525.
