Caltrain night-time work on tracks

Caltrain will perform routine track maintenance at several locations next week, including the town of Atherton. To avoid train delays the work will take place from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10 to Monday, Feb. 11, said a Caltrain spokeswoman.

Crews will weld and grind switches, and replace worn asphalt, rails, ties and ballast along the tracks. Neighbors may hear construction noise from equipment and heavy machinery; however, crews will work as quietly as possible, said spokeswoman Ellen Glover.
