MP district pursues after-school care at Laurel

There's a huge need for after-school childcare at Menlo Park City schools, and the district is going to do something about it, school board members said on Tuesday, Feb. 5.

I am a little concerned we'll run out of time... We'll hear from Ken Ranella at the next board meeting in March. But will something actually happen between now and then? I am really curious to hear Glen Rojas comments...

This is a crucial need for our community, which is increasingly composed of working parents. Besides, all of the neighboring school districts (Palo Alto, Las Lomitas, and so on) already have on-site afterschool care. We should encourage our school board to put out an RFP (Request for Proposals) -- there are reputable vendors out there who would love to fill this need!
