San hill road bike accident last Saturday?

Original post made by Jenn on Jun 12, 2008

Does anyone know what happened? I saw a horrific bike accident on the bridge over 280. I am curious to know if all were ok?

We drove by right after it happened. The rear wheel of the bike and frame, right up to the seatpost were crushed under the front wheel of the Jeep. The rest of the bike from the seat forward were actually stuck upright. I did the see rider standing on the sidewalk of the overpass with the driver, standing up and talking on his cell phone (911 I'm assuming). He looked fine, but it was a miracle looking at the bike. There were a few others standing around already so we kept going. I believe the rider was fine.
