Ice cream thieves undone by tech tracks

When a theft is under way, one rule that is sometimes overlooked by the criminals -- don't do something stupid that gives the game away -- was ignored again on May 24 when thieves stole 120 small containers of variously flavored ice cream from a vending machine outside the Shell station in Ladera.

this is really funny. but i heard the kids went to get gas then in the heat of the moment just grabbed a ton of ice cream.

doesn't seem like a very juvenile thing to do: plot to steal ice cream then not wear masks, wave to the cameras, and buy gas with a credit card for a car that kept its license plates on during the whole thing. sounds like alcohol to me, not stupidity.
