Atherton inspector volunteers to help China quake victims

Atherton building inspector Kenneth Huo recently traveled to the earthquake-ravaged Chinese province of Gansu with a five-man team of volunteer Bay Area seismic safety and building experts. The deadly May 2008 quake, centered in Sichuan, is blamed for nearly 70,000 deaths.

I hadn't seen the article--thank you for sharing the news--

GREAT STORY AS WELL! You are to be commended for the

"volunteerism" spirit and for helping your own City of Atherton

during these financially difficult time by using your "vacation

time" to make the trip. It's always heartbreaking when we

see first-hand the trials, tribulations and needs of so many

adversely affected people.

"Kudos" also go to the kids who sent along their artwork and

much needed school supplies!
