It is nice to read this news.

Last night, SUHSD voted to offer Everest four portable classrooms on an empty lot in East Palo Alto. Web Link As noted above, SUHSD used "the school's attraction to white students who might otherwise attend undersubscribed charters in East Palo Alto" as one of the reasons to reject the charter. If SUHSD is actually concerned about this, why would they offer Everest facilities in Easy Palo Alto? Charter schools are part of the wide array of programs offered to the SUHSD students. It seems like the district pitting the charter schools against each other.

The success of the charter high schools just makes the failures of in the rest of the district more embarassing.

If only SUHSD would use it as a learning opportunity and try to do better by their students, instead of trying to squash Everest, our educational system would be a much better place!
