The Chris Zider Award will recognize two outstanding high school sophomores who have proven to have strong moral character and a consistent effort to achieve personal potential in both academics and competitive athletics. Award winners shall have demonstrated a high degree of personal honesty and integrity; a commitment to learning; active participation in a competitive team sport; a heartfelt love for family and friends; a concern for all members of his or her community; a determination to maximize his or her natural intellectual and athletic abilities; and a joy for living life to the fullest. Financial need is not a requirement.

Two $15,000 scholarships will be awarded, one for a boy and one for a girl. The funds may be used to pay tuition or education-related living expenses at a public or private secondary school or a four-year college, and may be used in any of the next six years.
