Guest opinion: League of Women Voters says 'no' on key propositions

The League of Women Voters does not concur with The Almanac's recommendations on the May 19 ballot measures, although we agree that the choices are terrible.

This should be under "Political" topic.

The League of Women Voters got it right on this one. Vote NO on 1a, 1c, 1d, 1e, and I would personally add a NO on 1b. The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC, which has endorsed my candidacy for SM County Supervisor, sees it that way too. Sorry Almanac, you have to go back to school on this one.

The LWV is right, we need real reform, not more of the same crazy "fixes" that we've come to expect from Sacramento. How do we go about getting the ridiculous 2/3rds vote to approve the state budget overturned?

I never thought I'd agree with Jack Hickey on ANYTHING, but the League's argument makes a lot of sense.
