Portola Valley holds town picnic June 6 at new Town Center

The town picnic on Saturday, June 6, in Portola Valley includes the Zot's to Tot's 2.2-mile run, a car show, carnival games sponsored by the Cub Scouts, picnic food sponsored by the Boy Scouts, and a pie bake-off contest. The car show -- with vintage race cars, hot rods, motorcycles and exotics -- will set up in the parking lot in front of the Historic Schoolhouse.

It was a traditional English Bakewell Tart in which the jam was augmented by adding raspberries.
