In reading the article above, I noticed ALL the dates are WRONG for the Wednesday Fremont Park Concerts. For instance: as shown above is Wednesday July 2nd ..... Well July 2nd is a Thursday. The ACTUAL day of the free concert in the park would be July 1st. All dates are one/1 day off. The correct Wednesday dates are: July 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th and August 5th, 12th. SEE YOU THERE !!!!

A better question would be "why is the Almanac posting a year-old press release?"

Check the date of the press release: even though it was posted a few minutes ago, it's from last year! The names of the bands are wrong too! The Sun Kings are playing, but not until August.

The series begins in two days. The correct lineup:

• June 24: Rusty Evans & Ring of Fire (Johnny Cash tribute)

• July 1: Caravanserai (Santana tribute)

• July 8: Live Wire (Dance covers)

• July 15: Rumbache (Cuban/Latin/jazz)

• July 22: Chelle! & Friends (Creole/R&B/soul)

• July 29: Cocktail Monkeys (Rock and pop covers)

• Aug. 5: Dave & The Diamonds (R&B/soul/funk)

• Aug. 12: Sun Kings (Beatles tribute)

Hi Lorie. Somehow you managed to pull up last year's Almanac article about the concert series. Here's a link to the story about this year's series:

Copy girl, I'm afraid it's a quirk in our system that makes it look as if an Almanac editor has posted last year's information.

The 2008 article was posted when the original commenter, Lorie, pulled it up rather than this year's article, which ran in the June 17 issue of The Almanac. Stories are automatically posted on Town Square when someone posts a comment.

Unfortunately, when this happens, the article is tagged, "posted by Editor," which causes continual confusion. We're trying to have that designation changed.

I'm still confused. Original Almanac posting says Weds for the concerts (as it has been in past years). "Corrected schedule" from Lori P. and'copy girl' both list concerts on June 24-Aug 12, all Thursdays.
I sometimes schedule my visits from out of town so i can catch a concert. Any authoritative answers? Renee?

Rod, This thread is from last year. Here's a link to this year's concert series in Fremont Park. The performances for the entire series is at the bottom of the article:
