Good for Mr. Siegel. However, until Eric Hartwig is done ruining the Las Lomitas District,it will not matter who is on the board. All the Board Members are puppets of Eric who is a politician but lacks any depth...
By the way,Leslie Airola-Murveit needs a life. Her kids have been out of Las Lomitas schools for several years. Make room for parents who have kids there.

Congrats Mr. Siegel, our district is lucky to have your guidance.
In regards to the comment above, Leslie Airola-Murveit has done an admirable job on the board for the past seven years. It's important we have a diverse group of board members to fully understand all aspects of leading our schools. I really appreciate all of the time and effort that our board members and Mr. Hartwig have put into improving the quality of education our children receive.

I think Jay Siegel will be a wonderful addition to the current Board. He has a depth and breadth of knowledge and experience from which to draw. Wonderful choice!

Jay, thank you for much for your generosity of time and expertise for our district. It's parents like you that make the Las Lomitas Elementary School District such a wonderful place for our children to learn and grow.

Hooray for Jay! He's a very good choice for the board.
Our current board is full of wonderful people and I appreciate their guidance through the various rough spots we've had in recent years. I also think we are very lucky to have Eric. I've found him to be a politician in a good way, e.g. working with the union to resolve contract issues. He's very open to parents and very thoughtful about how to make things work.
I'm sorry LL Parent has been disappointed with our schools and administration. Sometimes a problem develops that can't be solved to the parent's satisfaction, and it is a very frustrating experience. I know some very decent, reasonable people who have not been able to resolve problems and have moved to private schools, an expensive alternative not everyone can choose. It's very bitter to see everyone rave about the school district when your own experience is strongly negative.
I can cut some slack for bitterness about the district, but definitely not about LA-M! Sometimes the best people for the board aren't current parents, and it's important to remember that the schools are public, i.e. belong to the entire community, not just current parents. Anyone in the community can run to be on the board.

I imagine the fed up LL parent only ever donates or volunteers when it directly benefits his/her family. It is comments like the one against Ms. Airola-Murveit that makes volunteering too hard. The board members need to be thanked profusely for the huge amount of time they give to the community.

Last time I checked- it is a free country and all you Politically correct people are what has ruined LE and this country for that matter... Eric Hartwig has denied our teachers their contract .He cannot seem to work issues with the teachers to get their contracts done. Eric only cares about his six figure salary but [PORTION DELETED.]..
The board at LE is a bunch of hand picked Politically correct people who will agree with Eric... Thus the LE that I once knew is gone. Eric will ruin LL district like he almost ruined Menlo Atherton High School...
