After a disappointing 2nd round defeat to Leland High, the Menlo-Atherton Bears bounced back with a convincing 49 - 37 win over Leigh High to take 3rd Place in the Los Gatos Wildcat Shootout. The leading scorer for M-A was Reed Foster with 15 points; all of which came in the 4th quarter. Jeff Keller and Nils Gilbertson each added 9, and Miles Brewer contributed 7 points. While the game remained close throughout the 1st three quarters, the Bears pulled away in the 4th, thanks to a frenzied defense that led to easy buckets. Key rebounds came from Walbank Mahoney and the defense was led by Jesse Perkins.

M-A is coached by Phil White with assistant coaches Robert Relierford and Eddie Mangonon
