Things that made me tired in 2009

Original post made by Dr. Bruce Baker, Palo Alto, another community, on Jan 3, 2010

I'm pleased with some of the efforts to make our planet Earth, our country, our state, our counties and our cities more "green."

You may have noticed strange symbols in some Town Square posts. The symbols occur where apostrophes and quote marks should be (example below). This happens when you paste text from a Word document with "Smart Quotes" turned on.

To turn off Smart Quotes, do this:
-- On the Tools menu, click AutoCorrect, and then click the AutoFormat As You Type tab.
-- Uncheck the box with the option to replace "Straight Quotes" with "Smart Quotes."

Im pleased with some of the efforts to make our planet Earth, our country, our state, our counties and our cities more green.
