Menlo-Atherton Bears win BIG over Menlo (53-39)

Menlo started out fast with impressive defense as the M-A Bears had trouble stopping Richard Harris of Menlo in the first half, trailing 31-24. Coach White made some adjustments for the second half as Jeff Keller started to light it up and the team defense of the Bears stepped up, led by Jesse Perkins at the guard spot and Walbank Mahoni at the post. Keller's play was awesome and he finished with 23. Reed Foster chipped-in with 8, Myles Brewer added 5 and Nils Gilbertson added 4. Michael Culhane had a huge bucket early in the 2nd half to help turn the tide in favor of the Bears. The award-winning M-A Bears 6th Man Club proved yet again why they are the #1 fan club on the Peninsula, as an estimated 300 fans showed up to root on the Bears. The Bears held Menlo scoreless in the final quarter and cruised to an easy win. M-A also won the Freshmen and Frosh/Soph match-ups with Menlo. Harris finished with 14 and Mac Osborne added 9 points for Menlo.
