The Menlo-Atherton Boys Varsity Basketball Team reached the quarterfinals of the Peninsula Athletic League Tournament with a 43-29 win over visiting Half Moon Bay. M-A came out fast, shooting out to a 10-0 lead with a patient offense and great defense. The Bears led at the half by a score of 29- 11. But Half Moon Bay started the 2nd half fired-up, holding M-A to only 4 points in the 3rd while they scored 11 and closed the gap. But M-A stayed with their game plan and pulled away in the fourth. Leading scorers for both teams was Nils Gilbertson with 19, followed by Red Foster with 14 for M-A.

Menlo-Atherton’s next game is on Friday, 2/19 at El Camino with a tip off of 7:30 pm.
