The Laughter of Elizabeth Lewis
Atherton, posted by John P. Johns, CPA, a resident of another community, on Apr 23, 2010 at 8:46 pm

During the special meeting of April 7th, Elizabeth Lewis laughed derisively at Mayor McKiethen while the mayor was defending her environmental record to Environmental Program Committee member Valerie Gardner.

When Jon Buckheit spoke out on the issue of excessive police salaries during his interview for a spot on the Town’s Finance Committee last Wedensday’s night, Elizabeth Lewis dismissed Mr. Buckheit’s concern with another derisive laugh.

One might argue that Ms. Lewis has good reason to act jovially. Her developer friend Sam Weiss was appointed to the Town’s Finance Committee and she has so far escaped scrutiny over evidence that I have presented the City Council that she falsified her building permit and that her home is in violation of Atherton’s zoning ordinance.

Ms. Lewis should however exercise restraint. Her political enemies are gathering steam. Ms. Lewis should remember that he (or she) who laughs last laughs loudest.
