Other Topics, posted by Newsboy, a resident of another community, on Feb 21, 2007 at 11:57 am

This Feb. 21 press release is from Kari Martell of Avenidas, (650) 289-5427:

Donald Kennedy, President Emeritus of Stanford University and Bing Professor of Environmental Science, Emeritus, will speak about “Science, Communication and Secrecy” on Monday, February 26, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Avenidas, 450 Bryant Street in Palo Alto, as part of Avenidas’ G. Derwood Baker Distinguished Lecture Series. The fee is $5.00 and the event is open to the public. (Avenidas members pay only $3.)

“Having someone of Donald Kennedy’s stature underscores the very essence of this lecture series, which runs at Avenidas to serve the intellectual community,” states Lisa Hendrickson, Avenidas President and CEO.

Kennedy has served on the faculty of Stanford University since 1960 and served as President from 1980 to 1992. He currently serves as editor-in-chief of Science, the Journal of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. His present research interests include policies for resolving trans-boundary environmental problems such as global climate change and the development of regulatory policies.

No reservations are necessary. For more information, contact Avenidas at 650-289-5400, or visit Web Link
