Four Menlo-Atherton Tennis Players take 1st Place at USTA Awards

The Menlo-Atherton High School tennis team had four players who were presented with 1st Place awards at the USTA Northern California (NorCal) Junior Recognition Ceremony that took place on Saturday, May 15, at the Fremont Tennis Center.

Alec Haley (senior) won the USTA 1st Place NorCal Grand Prix Award for Boys 18 Singles and the 1st Place Position for the San Mateo County Leaderboard Award for Boys 18 Singles.

The Perkins Twins, Jesse and Christian (sophomores) won the NorCal 1st Place USTA Grand Prix Awards for Boys 16 Doubles. The Perkins twins also won the 1st Place Position for the San Mateo County Leaderboard Award for Boys 16 Doubles.

And Richie Sarwal (freshman) won the 1st Place Position for the San Mateo County Leaderboard Award for Boys 14 doubles.

The Grand Prix Circuit Winner Award is a series of tournaments from June through August, 2009. And the Leaderboard award is an award for the top ranking at the end of 2009.
