When Cargill first began to ask Redwood City residents about this project, I thought that an 80/20 solution would work. 20% development & 80% restoration. Apparently, the need for profit (even though they've used the site for almost a century) out-weighed the ecological alternative. If all they were going to build were playing fields and enhancements for the existing community, that is one thing. Building an entirely new community is another. Woodside Road and Marsh Road are already impacted. Add the Bohannon project and we will have true gridlock on 101. If the desire is to build more houses and be able to direct those residents to the center of Redwood City (thereby revitalizing downtown), then Smart, high density growth along the El Camino corridor seems the logical way to go. As a home owner in Friendly Acres (next to Marsh Rd), I can only see a negative impact from this project.
