I'm surprised the district did not recognize at least one of the many outstanding teachers at Summit Preparatory High School, recently named by Newsweek Magazine as one of the Top 100 high schools in the nation.

Can we get over this charter fixation?
If the charter schools are PART of the district, then they get all that comes with it.
These honorees for the most part were getting recognition for years of service. I hope that we can do that for the Charter School teachers after a decade.
I'd be happier if this was all ONE district. The charter school teachers and administrators were not at this assembly of all the district employees... because they are a charter. Let's just make them part of the district!! (I have a feeling they would be opposed)
It is supposedly a GREAT thing that they are not run by the district. You can't have it both ways.

What about Sequoia HS and their recipients. The article almost gives the impression that no one at Sequoia received an award. Sequoia HS has 700 incoming freshman this year, many from within the Almanac's coverage area.
