The following letter by Maria Ploeger was published in the Almanac's March 28 print edition:
Editor:
Last week's photo of 5-year-old Hanna Kopisch riding her tiny bike in a narrow space between a row of parked cars and moving traffic is compelling.
Clearly, measures need to be taken to make pedestrians and bikers safe. But until something is done, why would parents knowingly put a child in this kind of danger day after day?

So tired of Almanac staff started new threads when there are already threads on the topic. Are they just not paying attention or are they trying to add to the noise?

In answer to Why's question, we invite our Viewpoint Pages readers (print edition) to respond to letters and guest opinions by posting their views on Town Square; therefore, we post them after the print edition is published to make it easy to respond.
By the way, I wouldn't characterize the postings of most Town Square writers as "noise," though there are exceptions.
