Ken Follet's Book Fall of Giants
Fiction, posted by Hank Lawrence, a resident of the Menlo Park: Sharon Heights neighborhood, on Oct 30, 2010 at 1:10 pm

I am only partially through the book Fall of Giants but I highly recommend reading it. One very hilarious passage occurs in Chapter 9 at the end of Part V where Lady Maude is talking to Earl Fitzherbert about Newspaper Editors with regard to Madame Caillaux's adventure at the French Newspaper Le Figaro.

Although I feel that Lady Maude's suggestion was just a tad extreme I mirthfully laughed at what she said. I think most people would have a chuckle with the exception of newspaper editors of course.

Sports is usually confined to a younger crowd than those who come here to discuss "adult bad behaviour" and the likes.

I thank you for the recommendation. Ken Follet was a favorite writer at one time, and this sounds different for him.

We just houseguested with Lady Carina and her husband,David, who also recommended the book.

Carina thought some of the characters funny but too tame.
