Woodside fire district officials solicits donations

Taking a cue from nonprofit education foundations that support public schools, Woodside Fire Protection District officials are hoping to ease some of the district's financial strain with the support of private donations.

While creative, it seems a pretty back door way of "collecting" money. Maybe other options, instead of circling the wagons, would be to share some services with neighboring agencies like Redwood City or Menlo Park.

Please have the fire district post the salaries and benefits of the personnel prior to voluntary contributions to the district.

Since there have been few or no personnel quitting, I presume they are adequately compensated.
