Posted by Michael G. Stogner, a resident of another community, on Dec 16, 2010 at 6:00 am Supervisor Mark Church has made some personal decisions which in turn have cost the Taxpayers of San Mateo County the entire cost of this election, what ever it cost.
"Mr. Church is resigning his seat a little less than two years into his third term because voters elected him to replace Warren Slocum, the outgoing county clerk, recorder, and registrar of voters."
This makes it sound like the Voters caused this $1.1M problem
This is not quite true, He did get elected that part is true. He violated his oath to fulfill the four year term of Supervisor, He chose to do that and he placed his name on the ballot for a job that pays him almost twice what a Supervisor receives.
June 29, 2010 at the Board of Supervisor meeting I personally requested he resign that day so that the Taxpayers could be spared this $1.1M -$1.6M expense by placing the Seat on the November ballot.
Mark Church is personally responsible for this cost to the Taxpayers. He has a much higher paying job now so he's happy. This is how he leads by example.
Thank You Mark Church for costing San Mateo County $1.1M
