Drug awareness seminar at Corte Madera School
Schools & Kids, posted by Newsboy, a resident of another community, on May 3, 2007 at 8:30 am

Corte Madera School in Portola Valley will hold a "Drug and Alcohol Awareness" seminar on Wednesday, May 9, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the school's multi-use room. Speakers are Sgt. Leo Capovilla from the San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force and Deputy Marcus Gathright from the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. Principal Joel Willen will also participate.

Speakers will show confiscated drugs and ever-changing drug paraphernalia. They will explain what parents should look for -- sights, sounds, smells and attitudes -- and tell about resources available to families.

There will be a discussion on the responsibility of schools in drug intervention.

For more information, call parent volunteer Amber Ramies at 823-9994.
