'Mardi Gras' is theme for Woodside's Day of the Horse

WHOA! — the Woodside-area Horse Owners Association — has announced that the 2011 Day of the Horse fair and trail ride will be held Oct. 8 and the theme will be "Mardi Gras."

Looking forward to this event. It is always an incredible showing of horse and rider - some in costume. Who knew there were so many horse lovers on the Peninsula!! Takes you back in time a bit - helps connect you to nature.

Love Day of the horse. Fun to see all the costumes and so happy that the horse gets such visibility for a day. It would be sad to no longer have horses in Woodside. Think of Atherton or Hillsborough or other Bay area towns. Horses are gone.
