Car meets pole in Atherton

John Woodell sent us this photo of a car that crashed into a telephone pole on Valparaiso Avenue near Emilie Avenue in Atherton shortly before 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12. AMR treated the driver at the scene for minor injuries while AT&T replaced the pole.

Was the driver chatting on his or her cell phone when this happened? What are the chances of that being an AT&T cell phone? What goes around comes around.

Glad there were no pedestrians walking there when this happened.

...and that's a surprise? Most veer that way, in Atherton. Frankly, I prefer the middle, on Valparaiso.
