"Once Upon A Mattress" Enchants One and All !
Original post made by Lyn Napel on Mar 21, 2012
This rollicking retelling of the classic "The Princess and The Pea" is set in a cursed kingdom gone Goth with a feisty princess, who insists on being called Fred.
It sings its way through twists and turns of romance, mistaken identity, a silenced king reduced to playing charades, and the plotting of a control-freak mom.
In the end you'll find yourself confronting the really big question: "Is there a prince or princess inside each of us?"
There are just three shows left this weekend, Thursday, March 22nd, Friday, March 23rd, and Saturday, March 24th, all at 7:30 PM in the M-A Performing Arts Center at Middlefield Road and Ringwood Avenue in Atherton.
This production is age-appropriate for any child unfazed by a wicked queen with long, black fingernails . . . or an unwed lady-in-waiting with an inconvenient pregnancy.
$12 Adult, $8 Student with $4 Student Special on Thursday, March 22, and $4 children under 12.
From the original Broadway Musical: Book by Dean Fuller, Jay Thompson and Marshall Barer; Music by Mary Rodgers; and Lyrics by Marshall Barer.
