A truck that hit low-hanging wires appears to have been the cause of a power outage that affected more than 1,700 customers in Portola Valley on Monday (April 9).

I don't believe this is what caused the outage. I was the one who called 911 and it was an exploding box at the top of the pole that was on fire and shooting out blue flames. There were not any low hanging wires at all until the fire burned them down. I saw it!!!
