Around Town, posted by Editor, The Almanac Online, on Apr 17, 2012 at 1:30 pm

Over the first two and a half months of 2012, donors gave a total of $79,896 to the eight candidates running for the District 4 seat on the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, according to campaign finance reports provided by the county Elections Office.

Kirsten Keith's donors are HEAVY on the Republican side. -- Duboc, Tolles, Bohannon, Kinney. Horton has has been similarly aligned. Silano was a Republican up until a couple years ago I believe. Riggs is a Libertarian. The only major donor Dem was Mike Nevin.

Whatever can it mean? ....Hmmm, we all wonder....

The donors listed are just a small sample of the contributors. These numbers are from the same reporting period that was covered three weeks ago by Eslinger: Web Link

Kirsten Keith is balanced and deserves everyone's support. She is a democrat who recognizes the importance of business and fair land use regulations.

I am an unaffiliated voter who tends to agree with democrats more than republicans these days, but also recognize the ticking time bomb of the county's pension obligations.

Aside from her balanced positions, Kirsten is very responsive and hard working. Give her a try.

The fact that Heyward Robinson gave money to Shelly Masur is reason enough to vote for Kirsten Keith. [Portion deleted. Please discuss the topic, not the candidate's spouse.] ... her thoughtful and balanced approach to addressing the various issues of Menlo Park more than overcomes [portion deleted].

Why is Shelly Masur giving up her school board seat that she just got in Nov. 2011?

This is a GREAT question. "Why is Shelly Masur giving up her school board seat that she just got in Nov. 2011?"

She took an oath before and after she was elected and part of that oath was that she would fill the position if elected for the 4 year term. She knew that the Supervisor District 4 seat was coming up in this election cycle. If she wins she will be causing damage/trouble for the school board.
