From DeAnn Okamura:

Calling all fathers or other significant caregivers! Bring your children to the Atherton Library on  Monday, August 6, at 4p.m. for our annual “Dad & Me @ the Library” program.  This year’s program, features a puppet show by the accomplished and renowned Puppet Art Theater, that is sure to delight audiences of all ages.

Studies have indicated that male involvement is critical during a child’s early years of socialization and development. Other studies have demonstrated the many benefits of reading to young children.

The Dad & Me @ the Library series of programs, sponsored by the San Mateo County Library and the Fatherhood Collaboration of San Mateo County, addresses both these issues at once with the goal of getting fathers to become more active in the lives of their children, along with establishing a regular reading routine.

Besides great entertainment, and a great time at the library, children will also receive a free book and an opportunity to obtain a library card. For more information about this program or any of the other Dad & Me @ the Library programs, visit our web site at smcl.org or call 650-328-2422.
