Term Limits Petition on Athertonians Web Site
Atherton, posted by Anne McNertney, a resident of the Atherton: other neighborhood, on Aug 9, 2012 at 4:31 pm

I have drafted a petition which I have sent to contacts in Atherton. Colleen Anderson had it posted on the Athertonians web site. As of today I am almost half way to the 100 needed to force the Atherton Council to discuss Term Limits.

If anyone is interested please visit: www.Athertonians.blogspot.com download the petition and mail to me.

Words are importan, and civil civility begins with using the proper words.

The Town Ordinance provides:

" Special meetings may be called at any time by the mayor, or by three members of the city council, or by a petition bearing a minimum of one hundred signatures of adult residents of the town. (Ord. 382, 1980: Ord. 344 Ch. 1(e) § 1, 1976)"

This is the proper terminology - rather than 'forcing- the Town Council to do something.
