Woodside resident helps arrest theft suspect

Retired San Francisco police officer and Woodside resident Bill Gilbert brought some of his professional skills to bear early on Aug. 30 when he assisted a sheriff's deputy in corralling a suspect in at least one of a series of recent thefts from unlocked vehicles in Woodside and Portola Valley.

I was stuck on Willow for a half hour yesterday, and you bet I was texting. My car didn't move even a foot for five minutes at a time. I had no idea I was creating a serious danger with my negligent behavior.

Maybe if the traffic weren't so snarled around here all the time, people would be too busy driving to text.
