Good work on Palo Alto's part quickly seizing on this opportunity. Meanwhile San Mateo County lives on with a segment of 'trail' along Alpine Road that most reasonable people find unacceptable and un-passable. As the Alpine 'trail' slides into the creek, the possibility of What Could Have Been hopefully will weigh heavily on the dissenting members of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors who in their imminent wisdom turned down these same $10.4M in funds to repair a section of this trail. We should all never underestimate the power of a small band of motivated zealots to undermine a logical decision that otherwise would have been made. I still find it hard to believe that in these fiscal times that any government agency turned down monies to improve infrastructure. Disgusting, really.
