Family Service Agency of San Mateo County is now accepting applications for enrollment of four-year old preschool children in their newly launched Family Literacy Program at their Early Learning Child Development Center, 24 Second Avenue, San Mateo. Space is limited. An open enrollment day will be held Friday, August 10th from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the aforementioned address.

Family Service's Family Literacy Program will engage children in a variety of literacy-building activities-using the new California State Preschool Foundations as a guide-and will honor the language and customs of the children participating in the program. Active parent participation is required. To be eligible, children must be born on or before December 2nd, 2003. The school year begins September 10th, 2007 and ends June 11th, 2008 with a choice of sessions that run from either 8:30 AM-11:30 AM or 1:00 PM-4:00 PM. Free class space is available to those who qualify.

To register, parents should bring their child's birth certificate and a copy of their immunization record to the open enrollment day.
