Atherton Town Council: Setting the Table

Original post made by table setter, Atherton: other, on Oct 8, 2012

There must be an election going on. Absentee ballots arrive this week, buckets of campaign literature arrive in the mail, and yard signs sprout like spring tulips. There are four people running for Town Council and three measures largely centered on Holbrook Palmer Park. It is time for Atherton to make decisions.

Maybe we can solve Atherton's budget crisis by turning this into a B-movie plot and selling the rights?

"Conlon disqualified because he questioned police raises."

"Lewis and Wiest endorsed by APOA. Vote for them. Or else."

We can get some more plot ideas to fill in the gaps from old episodes of the Dukes of Hazzard.

I do not understand who heard me and where did I ever comment about the Police raises. This statement to my knowledge is made up by an unidentifeid person and is completely untrue. As shown on my website I am deeply respectful of the Police and their Department and have not in any way questioned their salaries one way or the other. I am also not supportive of outsourcing the Police Department again as mentioned in more detail on my website--www.gregconlon.com. I am running because I believe Atherton is facing serious challenges in the next four years and I believe I have the experience on Atherton Committees and as an Certified Public Accountant and businessman to address these chanllenges. I would appreciate your vote. Greg Conlon for Atherton Town Council.

How sad that we don't have even ONE candidate that is willing to seriously address the fact that Atherton has the most expensive police force on the peninsula. The answer may or may not be outsourcing but the question should be the council's number 1 priority.
