The cup runneth over for the town of Portola Valley. Seventeen residents, including six incumbents, have applied for seven open seats on the town's two volunteer panels with the most consequential decision-making powers: the Planning Commission and the Architectural & Site Control Commission (ASCC). Openings on these commissions often draw just two or three applicants.

would love to see some new blood in both of these committees.. all the new applicants look great, and it is time for the folks appointed years ago (esp. Breen, Warr, McKitterick) to step aside and allow others to participate.. also prevents conflict of interest having local architect and local landscape designer approving or disallowing the work of their competitors and themselves. a four year limit seems about right, since these are appointed, not elected, positions
