Holiday parking hours take effect
Menlo Park, posted by Editor, The Almanac Online, on Dec 5, 2012 at 3:11 pm

Menlo Park has never been the sort of town where you can shop until you drop -- for one thing, the fear of parking tickets keeps people from staying overlong. But that changes during the holiday season.

Saw a Parking Nazi the other day giving a ticket on Santa Cruz Ave. He *smiled* as soon as he saw the car had violated the allotted time & his smile remained as he happily wrote the ticket. Clearly, he's well-suited for his important role.

As I posted years ago I believe that the MP Parking Enforcement Officers should be transferred to the staff person responsible for business development. This would certainly change their attitudes and priorities.

Not sure what the number was last year (someone needs to do a FOIA request). But they issued ~23,000 parking tickets one year in a town with a population of 32,000. MPK truly doesn't get it, sales prevention at it's best.

Peter I agree with you, have the BD person responsible for it. love to see him answer a business's request for comment.
