City Block Party a major success
Menlo Park, posted by Morris Brown, a resident of the Menlo Park: Park Forest neighborhood, on Aug 16, 2007 at 4:55 pm

Congratulations to the City Council and especially to Mayor Fergusson for another successful block party. City staff and others who put this all together did a great job.

The turn out for this one seemed even better than the Aug. 1st party. I talked with some of the merchants and they all seemed very pleased.

I should hope that next year similar events will take place; it's a lot of fun.

I took some photos of Mayor Fergusson and also councilman John Boyle in the dunk tank. To view go to:

I think this should take place through the fall! It was a fabulous event, so fun and restaurants really looked busy, it's great for downtown!!

At last night's City Council meeting it was proposed by the Chamber to hold next year 2 block parties in each month of June, August and September.

It was noted that dunking Mayor Fergusson and Councilman John Boyle had raised $1000.00 for the Boy's & Girl's clubs.
