So now he seeks feedback! Difficult to believe Ghysels argument that he fired her for a new direction and NOW he's asking people what that direction is???

Let the games continue!

I would have preferred to have been asked for input before Olivia was fired.

Complete wallpaper charade. [Portion removed. Please discuss the issue without personal attacks and labels.] Shame! SHAME! SHAME! No parental input, nor staff input went into hiring [portion deleted] Maurice! [portion deleted.]

Where are the Mt. View people? They should be here!

We MUST all go to the next board meeting and speak, one after the other. We must get rid of this [portion deleted] 'Leader' and organize a recall election for a new board.

Enough already! Enough of the hypocrisy. [portion deleted.] Make the connections and perhaps everyone will get upset, because if you're not mad now you soon will be, cause this Maurice will not ever change.

Totally ridiculous to fire Mandilk who built the best special department in the State of California! The entire staff is in complete mourning. I'm not joking....

There are also input meetings for scheduled for staff members. Here's my input on what I want in a new special education director in Menlo Park:
Highly experienced in the field of special education
Visionary leader
Open-door policy
Works effectively and calmly with staff and parents
Leader outside of the District
In touch with current trends in special education
Interest in parent education and outreach programs
Maintain informational Student Services website
Understand specialized curriculum for students with disabilities
Balance what is appropriate for the children with what is cost-effective for the district
Thorough knowledge of special education law for IEP compliance, reports and litigation
Exceptional organizational skills
Regular meetings for staff
Provides structured timelines for staff
Supportive of inclusion and Least Restrictive Environment
Create a sense of belonging for students with disabilities and families
Modest, humble, high character
Supports teacher improvement
Ability to supervise while giving teachers enough autonomy to run their programs
Set high standards for staff

Sounds like a great director, doesn't it?

If you can't tell, this is taken from the letter that was written by the special education staff and quoted a few weeks ago in the comments section on the Almanac.

As an aside, there have also been numerous input meetings for the decision to take back the O'Conner site, but ask anybody who has been in a private meeting about this topic, and you know that Ghysels decided a number of months ago that MP would be taking back the site. These meeting feel like a charade.
