I have been a long time regular of " Bravo Fono ", actualy ten years now. I am crushed to find out that my favorite restaurant has closed. The food was allways outstanding and the service and servers were superb. At least I have some consellation that " Babbo " is still available to me, and my favorite waiter " Eddie " has moved over from Bravo Fono to Babbo. Babbo is still serving the gulyas, but unfortunately no breadsticks. I will now of course be a regular patron of Babbo, but the memories of Bravo Fono will never fade. If you have never tried the food of Lazlo Fono, please do yourself a favor and patronize Babbo Cafe, and ask for Eddie! Oh, and if enough people request the breadsticks maybe they'll bring them back.

The highlight of my trips to Stanford Shopping Center used to be a stop at the gelato bar at Bravo Fono. I was heartbroken when they got rid of it. It was the best lemon sorbetto in California.

Trattoria Buon Gusto closed its doors in August, and a new Italian restaurant, Brunello Ristorante, should be opening in the same space on Maloney Lane late this month. The Almanac will have a story about Brunello in next week's issue, in the Food & Drink section.

I JUST GOT A NEED TO HAVE SOME HUNGARIAN GULA SOUP AND REMEMBERED IT FROM PAPRIKASH FONO. TRAVELED TO SAN FRANCISCO LAST YEAR AND FOUND IT HAD CLOSED. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY OF THEIR RECEIPIES. THEY WERE FEATURED IN ONE OF THE MAGAZINES YEARS AGO BUT, WE COULD NOT FIND IT.
IT WAS A SUPER PLACE TO GO FOR GOOD FOOD,GREAT ATMOSPHERE AND THE VIEW OF SAN FRANCISCO BAY WAS THE BEST.
